Abstract

This work aims to deepen the discussion on the relevance of public policies for sustainable environmental education focused on inclusive educational practices, aiming at formulating strategies to address inclusion in the school environment. The recognition of a degraded environment leads us to reflect on the social practices that perpetuate it, highlighting the urgency of educational intervention. Thus, the discussion focused on the role of environmental education in education with a focus on inclusion. A qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive methodological approach was used, conducting a bibliographic and documentary review to identify and present the main sustainability policies in the State of Goiás. To this end, reference works and articles related to the topic were analyzed, aligning with the research questions. In contemporary literature, there is a gap regarding the interdisciplinary approach between inclusive educational practices and the teaching of environmental education in public and private educational institutions. Although the Constitution and current legislation support the need for an inclusive and humanized educational process, there is an urgency to restructure the Pedagogical Political Projects of schools in order to effectively integrate inclusive practices and their social implications
